As part of its commitment to sustainability and climate education, Middle East University (MEU) organized a field visit for its students to Dibeen Forest Reserve to explore firsthand the challenges posed by climate change on Jordan’s forests. The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of environmental realities while inspiring innovative youth-driven solutions.
During the field trip, MEU students engaged with local communities and environmental experts to learn about the impacts of rising temperatures, water scarcity, and changing ecosystems on forest sustainability. The experience provided students with a unique opportunity to connect classroom knowledge with real-world challenges, reinforcing the role of youth in addressing climate and environmental issues.
Participants emphasized that such initiatives encourage them to think creatively about how technology, research, and community-based solutions can help mitigate climate impacts and support the protection of natural ecosystems in Jordan.
This visit reflects Middle East University’s ongoing dedication to sustainability, environmental awareness, and empowering students to become change-makers in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By linking education with practical experiences, MEU continues to strengthen its role as a leading institution for sustainability in Jordan.
